Yep. Straight off the boat from across the pond is Spotify — a music streaming program that knocks the socks off of everything else out there.
Like Grooveshark with an iTunes-esque interface, Spotify allows you to create custom playlists for both your desktop or your (wicked) smahtphone from a database of 15 million songs. Yeah, that’s 1 million more songs than iTunes AKA a lot of fucking music to choose from. Plus you can play full songs instead of half-assed 90 second clips. Full disclosure/sidenote: I hate iTunes/iPods.
Anyways, I won’t bore you with random shit about the program cause let’s face it: you have to experience it to know whether or not you want to try it. Right now they’re giving away limited invites into the program BUT if you’re a member of Klout, you can get an early invite WITHOUT having to bend over backwards and cross your fingers until they’re blue hoping you’ll receive a random email allowing you to join.
Not familiar with Klout? No biggie. It’s clear you’re not in marketing. Don’t fear. Below is a link to sign in via Klout so you too can be cool and try Spotify for yourself (you can sign in with Twitter or Facebook):
(that URL is not real but the link is)
Try it out. At least it gives you another alternative other than turntable.fm to waste away the tail end of your week at work.
Oh, and you’re welcome.
